KEVIN BYRNES - owner
In 2009, Kevin took a leap of faith and followed his true passion by enrolling in NPTI (National Personal Training Institute) to complete his NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Associate) certification. During his training, he discovered the versatility of kettlebell training and pursued a Level II certification through the International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation. Seven years later, he and his wife are taking another leap by founding Spark Fitness. Kevin started out primarily as a 1:1 Personal Trainer, where he honed his skills and developed a unique style, combining kettlebells with traditional strength exercises. Now as Founder of Spark Fitness, Kevin is looking forward to providing his clients with first in class training focusing on kettlebell movements such as: strength and conditioning, agility, and mobility. He is proud to still be working with many of the first clients who entrusted their wellness and fitness regime to him so many years ago. When Kevin isn’t at Spark Fitness, you can find him kayaking the Manasquan River with his wife, going for bike rides, home brewing beer, or walking their beloved bulldog Angus.
ROBIN MORRIS - COACH
Robin Morris is a Jersey Shore native who started exploring with kettlebells in 2011 as a means to cope with personal stress and body image anxiety. Having been a competitive tennis player her whole life, seeking solitude through physical means felt natural to her. From day one she became humbled and hooked. She learned to listen to her body, and how proper nutrition and nourishment can greatly enhance or inhibit physical performance. Robin was 22 years old and couldn’t perform a single proper push up or even press an 8kg kettlebell overhead. She was fiercely determined, and with the help of her coaches set progressive goals for herself and in 2012 earned her RKC Level 1 Kettlebell Certification and later recertified with Strong First in 2014. Since then, Robin has been sharing her passion and love for strength through mind/body connection.
