Spark Fitness member in a kettlebell training session with fitness coach Kevin Byrnes

In 2009, Kevin took a leap of faith and followed his true passion by enrolling in NPTI (National Personal Training Institute) to complete his NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Associate) certification.  During his training, he discovered the versatility of kettlebell training and pursued a Level II certification through the International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation (IKFF) as well as his StrongFirst SFG Level 1. Seven years later, he and his wife are taking another leap by founding Spark Fitness. Kevin started out primarily as a 1:1 Personal Trainer, where he honed his skills and developed a unique style, combining kettlebells with traditional strength exercises.   Now as Founder of Spark Fitness, Kevin is looking forward to providing his clients with first in class training focusing on kettlebell movements such as: strength and conditioning, agility, and mobility.   He is proud to still be working with many of the first clients who entrusted their wellness and fitness regime to him so many years ago. When Kevin isn’t at Spark Fitness, you can find him kayaking the Manasquan River with his wife, going for bike rides, home brewing beer, or walking their beloved bulldog Angus.

Coach Jessica Fuccello

Jessica comes to Spark Fitness with a background in sports performance, individual, and group training. She played Division 1 soccer at the University of Pennsylvania where she won several awards and was voted to the All-Time team. She continued to play at a semi-professional level while coaching and training kids ranging from pre-k to college level. As a competitive athlete, she always had a passion for fitness and wants to ignite that spark in other athletes and clients. While still training athletes and coaching soccer at Brick Memorial High School, she moved into individual and group fitness as well and has been leading classes for about a year now, earning the nickname “the silent assassin”. When she is not at Spark Fitness, Jessica can be found playing soccer, at the beach, or spending time with family and friends. She is excited to be a part of the Spark family!

Anita joins Spark Fitness as an American Council on Exercise (ACE) and National Council of Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT) Personal Trainer and NCCPT Weight Management Specialist. She began her career in fitness as a Group Fitness Instructor at the University of Delaware more years ago than she’d like to admit and returned in more recent years after having a family.

With her passion for movement (from Mobility to Kettlebell Training, Olympic Lifts and Calisthenics) Anita brings a unique perspective to light the spark within the everyone she works with. She enjoys helping people realize what they are truly capable of. When not in the gym, you’ll find her running, biking and playing with her husband and two young kids.
